Piher Sensing Systems, a leading provider of sensor solutions, announced the introduction of its new HCSO-1W open loop current sensor. The HCSO-1W is a high-accuracy sensor that is ideal for measuring AC and DC currents in battery management systems, industrial battery chargers and motor control applications.

Installing the sensor directly on the current-carrying conductor, without the need for additional hardware simplifies the installation process and reduces the risk of errors and downtime.

The HCSO-1W multirange transducer is based on Hall effect technology and generates a ratiometric analog output voltage signal proportional to the current flowing through the conductor. The sensor is available in a variety of current ranges and features a cable-mounting option for easy installation.
It can measure currents from ±25 A to ±1000 A in cables with diameter section up to 22,5 mm The sensor is easy to install and calibrate, making it a cost-effective choice for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

Piher’s Current Transducers have TMR and Hall-Effect current sensing capabilities rated up to 4kA. They exhibit better than ±3% (hall-effect version) and ±1% (TMR version) accuracy. The advanced non-linear temperature compensation mechanisms these sensors possess ensure that their accuracy is not affected by external temperature fluctuations.

Endicott, NY September 2023 – Amphenol Industrial Operations, a global leader in interconnect systems, will be expanding its operations with a new solar product factory opening in Q4 of 2023. The new 58,000 square foot facility will be located in Mesa, Arizona, further expanding Amphenol’s manufacturing presence in the city.

This new factory is anticipated to create up to 50 new specialized jobs, and will be focused on manufacturing solar junction boxes, connectors, and other advanced interconnect assemblies to support the solar energy industry.

Following the passage of the USA Inflation Reduction Act, the launch of this state-of-the-art facility is designed to help with the increased demand for solar energy, as well as contribute to reducing the nation's carbon footprint. It will be equipped with advanced machinery and robotic technologies aimed at ensuring the highest quality and efficiency standards.

Ideal for use in the energy storage market, as well as in electric vehicle, battery solutions, fuel cell and industrial applications, this new field installable, environmentally friendly connector is a highly reliable alternative to common compression lugs. It offers high distribution of power in a small compact lug. It can be used in DC to DC / AC to DC power transfers. It also delivers power from battery cluster to PCS, as well as from a battery pack to the rest of a system.

Using industry standard screw and Busbar termination options, the SURLOK Plus does not need any special torque tools for installation. It features a quick lock and press-to-release design to accommodate various dimensional constraints.

Thyez, France, December 9, 2022 – With the ever-increasing threat of cyberattacks across the world, it is crucial to keep systems safe and secured from attackers, no matter the origin of the source. While keeping strong passwords and changing them frequently is one of the most efficient ways to strengthen cybersecurity, other risks remain. Systems can also be breached through connectors.

Aware of this issue, Amphenol SOCAPEX has developed a locking solution for 38999, RJFTV, USBFTV connectors and caps series. Locks ensure additional security by reducing the risk of manual unlocking of plugs and caps, thereby limiting deliberate intrusions through connectors.

The new line includes CapLock, PlugLock and Metal CapLock solutions.

CapLock is a locking ring that prevents direct access to the cap mounted on a receptacle to secure access to the port. Once the Caplock is installed, it rotates freely around the cap and prevents it from being manually unlocked.

PlugLock is a ring that prevents intrusion on a port by locking the connection between the plug and thereceptacle. Once installed around the coupling nut of the plug, PlugLock rotates freely around it, preventing manual unlocking.

Metal CapLock is a cap for receptacle that includes a coupling nut which can be activated or deactivated using a specific locking screw.

Amphenol Industrial Operations has enhanced its Amphe-PD series with two low profile, two-way power connectors that have the capacity to carry high current. The Amphe-PD Mini 5.7mm and Gen2 5.7mm Amphe-PD can be used to transfer power from a PSU/PDU to a CPU, GPU PCB board.

The Amphe-PD Mini 5.7mm is designed to carry up to 120A at 500V DC. These connectors are available in busbar mount, right angle and vertical SMT compatible PCB mount.

The Gen2 5.7mm Amphe-PD can carry a maximum current of 150A at 500V DC. They come in black and red with a plastic housing and are available in vertical SMT compatible PCB mount.

Both connectors offer wire terminations ranging from 6 AWG to 2 AWG and can transfer power from a cable harness to PCB or other power application.

Both connectors in this enhanced power connector series feature a small footprint making them ideal for use in energy storage racks, data center equipment, servers, 5G, HPC and electrical devices where space is limited. They can accommodate reflow soldering or press fit termination onto the PCB.

These 5.7mm connectors feature RADSOK technology for higher amperage, lower t-rise, less resistance, and lower mating forces. This technology allows for more power in a smaller footprint.

The connectors also offer a mechanical latch feature that locks the connector in the mated position.

Both the Amphe-PD Mini 5.7mm and Gen2 5.7mm Amphe-PD are RoHS compliant and are available in UL-94 V0.

Amphe-Lite fiber optic termini transmits an optical laser with high speed, high reliability, EMI/RFI immune, digital data transmission in harsh environments.

Designed to interconnect fiber optic channels by providing precise alignment, tight contact and strong protection, this fiber optic solution is light weight for applications where total system weight is a factor; features an acceptable insertion loss when the distance is over 1KM; as well as offers 200 and 600 MHz/km of bandwidth when there is an enormous amount of information to carry.

These versatile connectors are shock and vibration resistant and can withstand 500 mating cycles. The Amphe-Lite fiber optic termini is compatible with MIL-DTL-38999 shell and have excellent adaptability in a size 16 cavity. They are designed and manufactured to be equivalent to MIL-PRF-29504/4&5.

This enhanced connector series features a ceramic alignment sleeve that ensures accurate fiber to fiber alignment. Connector sockets have a threaded protective shroud that is manufactured from rugged plastics. The contacts are spring-loaded to ensure consistent mating.
